It is a long story... I don't have the Internet AND phone service at home. I can't believe how bad the service is here. I ordered both last Friday. The phone technician was supposed to come yesterday, and he didn't. I almost waited for a whole day! When I called them, they said that he came to my place. That's BS
I was home. How did I miss that! Also they will keep you home all day long. If I asked them to have a specific time arrangement, they will come for next week. OMG
What kind of the service is that! (I heard other companies were also similarly bad.)
I thought at least my modem was delivered and could hook up the Internet, but I couldn't... I gotta wait for the phone line. No one told me that in that company... So I needed to complain... I BS almost all the sale representatives about their service. How unsatisfied and unhappy about their service! But they listened and apologized for it. The situation hasn't changed... I could finally talk to the supervisor! It was a bit better, but not much. I have classes any other days and they are coming on Saturday. Well, at least he suggested that the technician would call me before 30min they arrive. I was so furious that my emotion was so bottled up, but I satisfied a bit with talking to a higher position. So... my home has no entertainment, which may be good for me to study...
But the Internet is everything, though. I need to access the Internet to do ALL the communications, courses, or any other school services, too. I can't wait...
HOWEVER, there are good things. W's cousin lives here and she helped me out. She gave me sheets, bed covers, and desk etc. I met W's uncle's family this weekend. They were coming down from Chicago to see their daughter, who is W's cousin. So I tried St. Louis' traditional food called "toasted Ravioli." It was a sort of deep-fried Ravioli. It was all right. But it is a very new thing for me!
Another good thing is that shopping is much cheaper than Canada. There were many cheap things at Wal-mart or Target. The problem is that the shops are so spread out. It's hard to do shopping without a car!
Anyways, I have many things to tell you about Midwest, US, as there are many different things here when I compare to Vancouver. Some of things are culture shock! So new things will come up soon!
